My father opened a music store when I was 5, so I've been cursed for life. With easy access to so many instruments I just grabbed them and played. I enjoyed Bluegrass the most and chose the 5 string banjo as my main instrument. At age 10 Ernest Tubb heard me on a local show and invited me to Nashville. By age 13 I had traveled well performing shows with Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt and Roy Acuff among others. My father's death forced me closer to home. I picked up the trombone in high school, went on to LSU, Tiger band and the school of music. |

| While there I joined Freeze,
a local band as a horn player. When the bassist made a sudden departure I took over that position.
Left Baton Rouge during the dark Disco years, going underground with several hotel bands.
Returned in 81, since then have performed locally with John Fred, The Rude Boys, Shine, Ferdie and
the Popsicle, and several reincarnations of Clutch. |

| If I had to name a player I respect, it would be Lee Sklar. At a clinic he gave me a couple of tidbits, play as much as you can, as many different types of music with as many different artist. And most important, the drummer is always right, even when he's wrong.. | ||||
